Pedini Invested in a
Solar Energy System
To produce 1 kWh of electric energy (the amount of
electricity required to burn a 100 watt light bulb for 10
hours) we burn around 2,6 kWh in the form of fossils
combustible, which in turn releases to the atmosphere
0,532 kg of carbonic anhydride (CO2) resulting in
substantial increase of the greenhouse effect.
An alternative source, to the traditional production of
electric energy is produced by renewable and sustainable
energy sources - sources that do not harm the natural
resources for future generations. The sun, the wind, the sea,
the earth's heat etc., are considered renewable sources.
The Solar Energy System converts solar radiation into direct current electricity, which is favoured by Governments that have the necessity to reduce the greenhouse effect under the parameters of the Kyoto protocol.
Pedini SpA, who have been adhering to environmentally friendly practices in their production line for many years, has just invested in a Solar Energy System that will generate an annual production of 250.000 kw. The benefit - during the life of this system (30 years), a saving equal to 3.990.000 kg of CO2 that would have been released into the atmosphere!
The new system will be installed by July of 2010 and will have zero environmental impact, be cause the panels will be integrated into the roof of the new production facility.
At the completion of the new system installation, Pedini will publish the photos and
send to all their clients a link, with a digital panel,
where one will be able to view the actual production
of electric energy and the saving of CO2 in real time.

Other Interesting Facts about Solar Energy:
  • Da Vinci predicted a solar industrialization as far back as 1447.
  • In one hour more sunlight falls on the earth than what is used by the entire population in one year.
